WESTON ILLUMINATION METER MODEL 756
VISUAL AND COSINE CORRECTED

This instrument indicates Illumination on the surface of the light target. Calibration
is based upon the New Candle established by the International Committee ‘on Weights: and
Measures and adopted by the National Bureau of Standards on January 1, 1948.. By meana of
Visual and Cosine Correction Filters the meter is corrected to the Luminosity Curve adopted
by the International Commission on Illumination and to Lambert's Cosine Law of Ilhimination.

The meter can be used without corrections for the measurement of tungsten light,
fluorescent light of various colors, etc. No corrections are necessary. when measuring oblique
light from one or more sources. :

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
21. Set'to the range desired by means of the selector switch.

2: To measure the illumination. of any:surface, place the light target on or near the
surface and parallel tovit. : a .

3. To measure the maximum illumination at any point from a lyminous source,, place
the light target perpendicular to the direction of the light rays.

4. The indications are’ practically uneffected by changes in external temperature.

CAUTION:

The instrument should be handled carefully and protected from excessive vibration
and shock. To prevent excessive heating of the light target, it should not be exposed to in-

tense 1 radiation containing a large proportion of heat rays longer: than necessary to obtain a
reading.
