batlery wlth posltlve "+" side up and replace coyer. lt is advisableto

2. GheckPointerAllgnment-WlthScaleSelectorSwltch (2) In "OFF'poslllon,
polnter(3) should be on zero. lf polnter is off zero, Inserl screwdrlverinto
zero corrector (4) and turn it clockwise, or counter-clockwiseuntll
pointerls on zero.
3. Sel Fllm Speed-Setfllm speedIndex (5) by rotatlngdlal (6) wlth dlal
knob (7) unlll the Index number(ASA) supplledwlth the film is visibleIn
wlndow (8) and allgnedwilh the Index mark.
4. SelectScale-The ScaleSelectorSwltch (2) has four posltlonsas shown In
window (9): OFF,BATTERYTEST,H (normallight), and L (low level llght).
a. BatteryCheck-To lest the batterycondltlon,swltch to BATTERYTEST
posltlonand note pointer.Polntershould be on, or to the rlght of mark on
the BATTERYTEST scale.lf the polnter ls to the left ol the mark,
replace lhe battery immediately.
NOTE:Placethe ScaleSeleclorSwitch (2) In the'OFF" posltlon
when meter ls not In use.
5. RellectedLlght Measurements-Tomeasulereflectedllght, set baflle sllde
swllch (10) to'REF'posltlon and polnt the meler al sublecl.Set Scale
SelectorSwllch (2) lo "H" scalelor normal llght condltlons.Nole numberon

polnter(3). Rotatethe outer dial (11) untll Inder mark (12) appearsat the same
number as the polnter readlng.Select a shulter speed and f/stop comblnatlon lrom
the ShutterSpeedScale(13) and f/Stop scale (14).
7. MovleFllm Erposures-Whenusing the WestonXM-2 to determlneproper
erposure for movle lllm, proceed as follows:
a. DetermlneShutter Speed- The correct shutter speed lor your movle
cameraappeart on scale (12),dlrectly opposlteMOVIEF.P.S.scale (16);
generally18 frames-per-second.Fllm speedsof 12 F.P.S.and
32 F.P.S.are also provlded.
b. Performa "reflectedllght" or "incldent llght" measurement,as
descrlbedaboye,and note lhe f/Stop readlngon scale (14), dlrectly opposlte
the shutler speed determlnedIn step a.
8. For cameraswlth E.V.(ErposureValue)setllngs,use scale (17).
9. For low levellightlngcondltlonsas usuallyencounteredIndoors,set Scale
