some time the film will be tronsported,the shutter cocked, the exposure counter
operoted ond the double exposurelock put in. The reversemotion of the ropid lever

will control the light volume offecting the film in o respectiverelotion of the shutter
speed. Moreover the diophrogm determines on odequote depth focusing oreo. The
focus of the imoge will be extened from the odiusted distonce forword ond bock-
word os well ond is moinly dependenl from the selected lens opening ond the
focusing disionce.
The diophrogm will be odiustedwith the diophrogm indicoting ring (9).

ln order to odlust the shutter in occordoncewith exposurevolue engoged by the
exposure meter the interlocking device (12) must be pressed down. Thus results
o free odlusting of ihe diophrogm indicoting ring (9) which beors the red exposure
volue scole (10). Also the time setting ring (8) or both rings (8 ond 9) con be
'odiusted ot the some time by pressingthe interlockingdevice.The exposurevolue
shutterhos been correctly set when the red exposurevolue setting mork (11) points
to the exposurevolue previously determined.Full crnd intermediotevolues con be
obtoined.

To releosethe shutter the releose knob (3) hos to be pushed down by index finger
until the shutterclicks.Avoid ony sudden ond pulling movementsos they ruin your
pictures.For iime exposuresset time setting ring (8) of "B". The shutterremoinsopen
until you will releose him. Coble releoseshould be screwed into the socket.For long
exposuresit is odvisoble to use o coble releosewith fixing screw.

The self timer is o help in mony respectsi.e. when the comero user desiresto oppeor
on the picture or when o time exposuremight be obtoincd from on insecureposition
which might result o shoked releose.
The self timer con only be operoted with cockedshutter.Slide synchroswitchlever ('13)
in position "V" ond releose shutier by pressureon releose knob (3). A morgin of
8 sec. is between operoting shutter ond releose.

At the end of the filmtronsport o cleor obstruction will be noticed when tyring on
overwinding thus resultso teoring of the film from the cossette.The exposure counter
(22)shows the omount of film ovoiloble. In cose the lost picture could not be fully
pulled out the exposurecounterwill indicote onother figure os the expectednumber
20 or 36.
Before opening the comero bock rhe film must be rewound into its cortridge.
Operote releose lever (16) for rewind mechonism.Rewind knob (15)will come oui
outomoticolly.The film will be rewound into the cortridge by turning the rewind knob
in directionof orrow. Decreosedresistoncein winding
ond stop of exposurecounter- runs whilst rewinding-
indicote thot fi lm is bock in cortridg". Now you moy
open the comero bock ond remove the fi lm. Rewind
knob hos to be reset in its bosic position.

The focusing indicoting ring (5) of the ARETTElens
is provided with on internol threod for holding color
filters, sun shode or close-uplenses.They ore double-
threodedond, therefore,o close-uplens,color filter ond
sun shode con be screwed on the lens olltogether.The
foresoid sequence,however,hos olwoys to be observed.
The engoged color filter will reduce the incident light
to o certoin d"gree. To compensotethis the exposure
time hos to be lengthenedor better the obtoined ex-
posure volue decreosed by the exposurevolue figures
mentionedon po ge 25.
When using on oronge filter the engoged exposure
volue 13 should be reduced by the decreoseof light
vofue, nomely 2,5 i.e. 13-2,5- 10.5 hos to be set ot
the shutter. The respectivedecreose for o ll our f ilters
ore stoted on poge 25.

with greot core, using o tiny pod of chemicollypurified cotton-wool. h
