The lens aperturering is used to increaseor reducethe
amountof lightreachingthe film surface.
To set the lens aperture, turn the aperturering so that
the clickstopsettingfor the desiredf-numbersetting
matchesup with the focus/apertureindex mark.
Intermittentf-numbersettingscan also be selected.
Eachtime a higherf-numberis selected(for example,
on changingthe aperturesettingfrom f4 to f5.6), the
lens aperturenarrowsdown one step and the amount of
light reachingthe film decreasesby 112.Conversely,
each time a smallerapertureis selected, the lens
aperturewidens one step and the amountof light
reachingthe film doubles.
. Varyingthe aperturesettingnot only allowsyou to
increaseor decreasethe amount of light on the
subjectfor differentexposureeffects,but also allows
you to controlthe depth of field to create different
focusingeffects.
