Flash Photography
      1. You only have to directlyset the flash unit in the
hot-shoe(9) with the flash unit havingno cable
       and directsynchronizationfeatures.
      2. Set the shutterspeed dial (1) at 1 1125secondor

      3. Set the correspondingaperturevalue with the
       GuideNumber(G.N.)of your flash unit by
        operatingthe aperturering (14).
For detailson how to determinethe correct
        aperturevalue to use, followthe instructions
given in the manualof your flash unit.

    Depth-of-field
     1. When you are focusingon a given subject,
        objectsin the foregroundand backgroundwill
       appearacceptablysharp in the picture.
The range in which all objectsappear
        acceptablysharp in the pictureis called"depth-
          of-field."
      2. To obtainthe depth-of-fieldscale at different
        aperturesettings,the depth-of-fieldscale (15) is
        used.The depth-of-fieldscale is positioned
       betweenthe focusingring (17) and aperturering

        To obtainthe actualdistancevaluesof the
          depth-of-field,read the valueswithinthe range
           off the focusingscale.
      3. For instance, when the lens is focusedon a
subject at a distanceof 3m with the apertureset
at f/8, the depth-of-fieldcan be obtained by
         usingthe depth-of-fieldscale as follows:the
         valueson the distancescale correspondingwith
         the f/valuesshown on the depth-of-fieldscale
         are approximately2.4m and 4.5m respectively.
         This meansthat all objectswithinthe range
