        SHOOTING

                 --+-
Taking pictures with DeVry Still Canera requires
no particular special instructions. To move an unex-
posed f rame of film over cxposure aperture, simply
hold camera in left hand and turn crank (C) one revolu-
tion (clockwise) with thumb and index finger of right
hand, thus allowing other fingers of right hand to
    hold camera steady.

Sight your subject in brilliant finder, (E) and when
ready to expose-gently touch crank in counter clock-
wise direction. Do not force crank in making this
operation, simply touch Iightly as the hair spring
will, of its own accord, release the shutter. Without
raising the eye from finder, another exposure or as
many as are desired of the same subject can be shot
by simply turning crank one revolution for each shot
and releasing crank as above instructed. Remember,
you cannot expose two views on the same film frame
because it requires a complete revolution of the crank
before a new film frame can be brought over aperture
plate and in back of the lens, and for this same reason
the shutter cannot be cocked until this operation is made.

Care should be taken however at the critical moment
of exposure (when shooting the picture) not ,to far
or move the camera when releasing crauk for expofire.

Always make certain to center the scene you want
in the center of vierv finclcr. 4

When taking time exposureis shift time exposure
lever (F) to the letter "T" or "Tirne" as marked on
camera case. This disconnects instantaneous shutter
action and sets shutter for time exposure. Pose your
subject-turn crank (C) one revolution and when reacly
to "shoot" release crank as above instructed. Shuttcr
is now open and exposure in process. After the re-
quired amount of time is allowed for time exposure'
shift time exposure lever (F) to the letter "I" as marked
on carrrera case and shutter closes-thus completing
the time exposure. Care should be taken when calcu:
lating the time necessary for such exposures. It is
advisable to use either tripod or set camera on solid base
   whcn taking time cxposures.

thc takeup magazine compartment and you will be ready
to take other pictures immediately with the remaining

up magazine then take the exposed portion of your film
in its magazine to your Dc\rry dealer and after the
film has been developed, replace the magazine in its
compartment in the camera. In either case load the film        .{
into the empty magazine as already directed on page 4
of the folder. Be careful not to change rea(l,ng on J
