SHOOTING

Taking pictures with DeVry Still Camera requires no
pai:ticular special instructions. To move an unexposed
frarne of fiim over exposure aperture, simply hold camera
in left hand and turn crank (C) one revolution (clock,
rvise) rn'ith thumb and index finger of right hand, thus
allowing other fingers of right hand to hold camera steady.

Sight your subject in brilliant finder, (E) and when
ready to expose-Sently touch crank in counter clock-
vhs-dhe€tion-.--Do nor-Joree---era*k in - making= thi
operation, simply touch lightly as the hair spring will,
of its own accord, release the shutter. Without raising the
eye from finder, another exposnre or as many as are
desired of the same subject can be shot by simply turning
crank one revolution for each shot and releasing crank as
above instructed. Remember, you cannot expose two
views on the same film frame because it requires a com'
plete revolution of the crank before a new film frame can
be brought over aperture plate and in back of the lens,
and for this same reason the shutter cannot be cocked
until this operation is made.

Care should be taken however at the critical moment
of exposure (when shooting the picture) not to j"t or
move the camera when releasing crank for exposure.

Always make certain to center the scene you want in
the center of view finder.

When taking time exposures shift time exposure lever
(F) to the letter "T" or "Time" as marked on camera
case. This disconnects instantaneous shutter action and
sets shutier for time exposure. Pose your subject-turn
crank (C) one revolution and when ready to "shoot"
release crank as above instructed. Shutter is now open
and exposure in process. After the required amount of
time is allowed for time exposure, shift time exposure
lever (F) to the letter "I" as marked on camera case and
shutter closes-thus completing the time exposure. Care
should be taken when calculating the time necessary for
such exposures. It is advisable to use either tripod or set
camera. on solid base whenwww.butkus.ustaking time exposures.

             as You Like
DeVry film rnagazines shown in figure 4 are absolutely
light tight. The camera may be opened after five, ten
or any number of pictures have been taken. Simply turn
two frames and open lid. Clip film about one, half inch
from take,up magazine and remove take,up magazine
which contains exposed film. If you have an extra take,up
magazine, which can be secured at your DeVry dealer for
2l cents, you can then piace this in the take,up maga2,ine
compartment and you will be ready to take other pictures
immediately with the remaining part of your film. If you
do not have an extra take,up magazine then take the
exposed portion of your film in its magazine to your
DeVry dealer and after the film has been developed,
replace the magazine in its compartment in the camera.
In either case load the film into the empty magazine as
already directed on page 4 of the folder. Be careful not
to change reading on the counter dial because when part 'numberof the film is removed the exact of remaining
frames is indicated on the dial.
If you enjoy doing your developing get a DeVry Reelo
Tank from your DeVry dealer. It will develop perfectly
your 6 foot ro11 of film in 20 minutes.
The above method of clipping the film in daylight
exposes about three picture lengths of the film as it is
stretched across the aperture from magazir;e to magazine.
If the film is kept in a dark room, only the space of
one picture will be spoiled on the film, that much being
required to reach into the empty take,up magazine.
