Thirdly: The new models have been fitted with an Icono_
meter finder with diopter, in addition to the Newton finder.
The general construction is very solid, cleverly designed and
fitted with the latest model of the w,ell known co-pir shutter
and Tessar F 4,5 by Carl Zeiss -Jena. Single *it"l slides,
Autochrome slides, film-pack adapters and ihanging boxes,
are all in the same focal plane and do not ,equire
special adapters. ^rry

    How to open the camera
Open the camera by seizing the front between thumb and
fingers of one hand and drawing it outward, so that the four
struts opbn and snap into position like pocket knives. Turn
upward the Iconometer, which bears in its centre a round
lens.I glass, serving to protect the
      Focusing
The focusing is done by revolving the frontal ring of the
Zeiss lens, on which distances ,_rp io infinity are eigraved.

When using metal slides or changing box, the numbers of
this ring must be moved up to the white mark P (Plate).
When working with a film pack adapter, the numbers of
the scale must be placed against the red mark F (Film).
But in the latter case it must also be remembered that
when using the ground g/ass for focusing, the focusing
ring must be placed on the white mark P first, and only
then on the red mark F when the focusing is finished. If
the camera is placed on a stand, it is preferable to use the
ground glass screen for focusing. If the camera is held in
the hand, there are two methods of observing the subject, I
one by using the Newton finder, which is turned outward,
the other by using the Iconometer. The one is provided
with a sight while the other has a diopter placed on top of
the camera, which erects itself automatically after being
turned round. Both finders show the same image as that
projected by the lens on the ground glass.

Inserting the slide
Remove the ground giass frame by pushing knob k downward
and raising the frame. Put the slide in its place by inserting
first the left short side underneath the groovL and by pr"ssrrg
the whole slide against the camera, where it is retained by
the two springs of knob k.

How to use the shutter
Most irnportant points:
1. The dial r must only be revolved in the direction of the
arrow, that is, to the left. It will turn to the right too, but
must not be as this will upset the delicate melhanism ofthe shutter.
2. The lever j must be used only for instantaneous expo-
sures, with the disc f placed on M,

                                                                                               1',

3. The shutter may be released by a touch of the finger
on pin d or by pressure on the cable release which is screwed
into the bush underneath pin d.
              L" Long time Expo.sures
Place disc f by means of the little button uPon tlre letter Z,
pressure on the release opens the shutter, a second pressure
closes it.
              B. S.trorf time ExPosures
Place disc f on letter B, pressure on the release opens the
shutter. When the pressure ceases, the shutter will close'
            M. Instantaneous Work
Place disc f on letter M. Regulate the speed by revolving
the dial r in the direction of the arrow, until the number
which represents the desired speed, is opposite the white
mark. Arm then the shutter by pushing lever i of No.4012

sideways and of No. 41/2 downward as far as it will go.
The Iris diaphragm is regulated by means of the lever f and
the scale on which it runs.

Closing the camera
Bring back the finders in their original position. Simulta_
neous pressure on the four struts will bend them in the same
manner as a clasp knife is closed. Then press the front as
far into the body of the camera as it will go.
