OPERATING       INSTRUCTIONS         FOR
fo open cdmerq - press down rectongulor cotch of top center of comero bed, releosing bed
ond letfing it down gently until struts(14)lock in the lower notches(seeillustrotion).
To cfose comerq -  first moke sure thot  oll odiustments hove been returned to "zero"
position.While holding in infinity cotch (45)push lens stondord slowly bock into housing.
(Avoid sudden compressionof bellows).Pressdown struts(I4) ond close comero bed until
it locks.
To,pull oul lens slondord - grosp hinged hondle (42)ond pull forword until front clicksinto
infinity stop for the desired lens.
lnfinity stop(s)ond distonce scole(s)-  lf your Technikq wos foctory-equipped with two or
more lenses,it moy be supplied with two or more distonce scoles (48)whose infinity (oo)
colibrotionsmotch correspondinginfinity notcheson the uper trock (50).For eosy identifi-
cotion, notchesore morked with colored dots:
lst  notch    wide ongle lens;        Index (46) stops ot block scole
2nd notch    normol lens;            Index (46) stops ot red   scole
3rd notch
               long telephoto lens;     Index (46) stops ot blue  scole
Distoncescolesore colibroted ond engroved specificollyfor eoch lens. Scolesfor normol
ond wide-ongle lens ore combined on one slide; sepoiote scoles ore required for long
focus ond telephoto lenses.Eoch scole is eosily interchonqeoblewith sioles for othe"r
lensesby slididg it off the slide shoe ond replocing it with tfie opplicoble scole slide. The
normol position of eoch slide is fixed by o spring lock.
For some long focus ond telephoto lensesthe scole slide must be pulled out beyond the
comero bed until the slide clicksinto o secondoryfixed pos;tion.In this positionthe-distonce
index line (45)will motch the infinity mork of the distoncescole for the telephoto lens.
Chonging lenses- Eoch lens is supplied on its own lens boord (30).To remove lens from
c.omero,.grosp shutter housing with right hond, push bock grooved lock bor (29)with left
thum.b;lift lens with lens boord from-stondord.'To insert,ilip lower edge oi l6ns boord
into bottom groove of stondord; press upper edge of boord ogoinst lock"bor until it snqps
into-positionl
Bqsic odiuslmenls for specific lenses:
Wide-ongle. Pull out U-stondord duntil it clicks into first (block dot) infinity notch. Drop
comero bed by pushing dowl on siruts (t4) - os  if closing the comero - simultoneously
pressingdo.wncomero bed until strutslock in secondnotches.Re-olignstondord by pressin!
in releose buttons (18) on both sides of hinged bose (52); tilt leni stondord bocli until i-t
lo.cks.           press d'o*n front releose for up-pertrock i49), push bock upper lrock until it     Jbun
clicks inlo o secondory.fixed position. The iridex line (45)"will motch th6'infinity mork on
the scole (48)for the wide ongle lens ofter this procedure hos been followed. The comero
con now be focused by meons of the rongefinderin the usuol woy ofter the com hos been
exchongedtoo. To_bring.the comero bock-to normol position,firsi depresssecond releose
for,uppj?rJ.rock (41), pull..trock forword, ond then press down  firit  releqse for upper
trock (49).The trock will click into the normol position.
Cqulion: Remove rongefinder ctlm from com shoe before droppinq cqmero bed to lost
(third) notch; olherwise ccm ond rongefinder linkoge moy be ddrirogied.The deep drop of
the comero bed  is needed only for use with extreme wide-ong-lelens qnd'ouxiliory
focusing device.
The universol (mu'ltifocus)rqnge finder is odiusted ot the foclory for wide-qngle lenseslo
operole only with dropped bed. Dropping the bed prevents the front edge of the bed
from vignettingthe picture oreo.
Normol lens. Comero bed ond U-stondord in normol position. (Struts locked in lower
notches,stondord verticol). Pressdown infinity releose (45) so thot the lens stondord con
be pulled out to the (red dot) infinity notch for the normol lens. Index line (45)will motch
the infinity mork on normol lens scole (48).
Telephoto lenses240mm or270 mm. Comero bed ond U-stondord in normol position. Press
down infinity releose (45)so thot the lens stondord con be pulled out to the (green dot)
infinity notch. Insert correct distoncescole slide (48).When using o 270 mm lens, pull out
the distoncescole slide obout l5mm  (5/8") until it clicks into secondory locked position;
index line (45)will motch the infinity mork on scole slide.
Telephoto lens 360 mm. Comero bed ond U-stondordin normol position.Pull out stondord
until it clicks into (blue dot) infinity notch. Now press down upper trock releoses (41+49)

  lensf pull out iCole slide until it clicks into secondory locked position; index line (46)will
 motchthe infinity mork on scole slide (48).
 Nole: The upper trock ond the distonce scole slide must be pulled out olso for ony
 "normol" lensesbeginning with 2.|0mm focol length.
  Criticol focusing is done by turning focusing knob (21)while using universol(multifocus)
 ronge finder or ground gloss.The focusing position is locked by using lever (22).
 Universol (multifocus)ronge finder:
 Coms. Eoch lens coupled to ihe ronge finder is supplied with on individuolly colculoted
 ond plotted precisioncom (40) on which the focol length ond seriol number of the lens,
 ond the seriol number of the comero ore engroved in the some color os the corresponding
  infinity notch ond distoncescole.
 To remove com. The com becomes occessibleif the stondord is pushed into the comero
 housingond the trock is rocked out by turning focusing knob (21).Lift com slightly from
 comero bed ond pull it out of the com shoe (39).
 To insert com. (Stondqrd in housing, trqck rocked out). Lift shoe (39) slightly, insert com
 ond push in os fqr qs it will go ogoinst stop pin.
 Ronge finder focusing. Moke sure thot com motches the lens used, ond thot the stondord
 hostreen ploced ot Eorrect infinity position. The swinging bock (ii) must be locked flush
  ogoinstcomerq body.
 Two imoges qre seen through the ronge finder eye piece (8); o "direct" imoge through the
 upper operture,o "reflected" imoge from the lower operture (13).Turn focusing knob (2t)
  until the direct ond the reflected imoge become one. The lens is perfectly focused when
 the two imoges coincide in this monner. Look stroight through the center of the rqnge                                                                                                 "of finder eye p6ce (8) to obtoin consistentlyoccurote r6sults.A fiw  proctice comporisons
 ronge finder focusing with ground gloss imoge will give you the proper "touch" ond
 ossuronce.
 The upper lrock (50)for triple extension is used with long focus lenses,ond for mocro- ond
 copy work. Pressdown upper trock releoses(41+49) ond pull out trqck to locking position.
 The bellows will un-hook outomoticolly.(Removecoble releose from body shoe before
  pulling out upper trock.)
 Risingond folling fronl. Turn odiustment knob (15) to roise lens for correction of con-
 verging lines.Zero position is indicoted by index line.
  loferol shift. Turn odiustment knob (a3)to shift lens stondord to right or left. Zero position
  is shown by index line.
 Swinging fronl. While holding down front releose lock (20) swing stondord left or right
 from its verticol oxis. Zero position is indicoted by o click stop.
 Swinging ond tilting bock (6) con be un-locked by loosening the four lock knobs (7). The
 bock con be drown bock ond, if desired,tilted in ony position includingthe diogonol; it is
 lockedin ony positionby tighteninglock knobs (7).The bock offords o meonsof controlling
  distorfion,depth of  field, ond perspective.The universol (multifocus)ronge finder is,
  of course,inoperotivewhen the swinging ond tilting bock is being used.
 Use ground gloss when employing swings, tills, or shifls.
 Extremewide-qngle Angulon 65 mm. The Techniko con be modified for use with this lens
 which is of decisive vol-uefor certoin Architecture ond Engineeringsubiects.Informotion
