Your Minolta Auto Bellows lll is the heart of an advanced close-up system that
enables many operations not possible before.
Its independe ntly moving lens and camera standards provide precise control of
magnification and focusing for utmost convenience. The remarkable swinging and
shifting mechanisms of its lens standard can be used separately or togethei fo-r uni-
que effects that are observable through the viewfinder. Automatic diiphragm stop
down and shutter release are by special series cable releases or exclusive sto--paown-
release button on the bellows. A detachable bellows for simplified lens reversing,
rotating camera bayonet mount and lockable diaphragm stop-down button are some
of the many other outstanding features of this very versatile bellows. Special system
accessories include a focusing rail which also serves as a flash support for flash-
illuminated close-ups, a slide copier which attaches to either a normal or reversed lens
and macro stand that has a rotating stage and folds for easy storage.
Before using your Minolta Auto Bellows lll for the first time, plelse read this manual
all the way through-or at least the sections to cover your own needs-while
operating the controls as you acquaint yourself with its parts and features. In this way
you can take good close-ups and begin to realize the broad potential of your Aut6
Bellows lll right from the start. Be sure to keep this manual for reference later as
necessary.

Rapport de grossissement
Determinaci6n de la amptiaci6n de la imagen 33
lmage magnification is the ratio of the subject
image size on film to the actual size of the sub-
iect. lt can be determined for a specific lens{o-
film distance by using the milimeter scale on
the exlension rail. To do this, tocus on your sub-
jecl and note the scale readings indicated by the
white dots near the rear edges of the lens and
camera standards. Then find the exact amount
of bellows extension by subtracting the smaller
number from the larger one and consult the
tables (pp. 75€0) to obtain the magnification lor
the lens in use at that extension. For example, if
the white dot on the lens standard is at 150 and
the dot on the camera standard is at 4g. the bellows extension equals 150-48 : 102mm.
When using a 50mm f/|.4 Minolta lens with its
distance scale set at infinity, the table shown
that for 102mm of extension the image
magnification is 2X.
When the lens is reversed, scale readings for
the lens standard are indicated by the red dbt on
its front edge.View original page 25Page 27 · Read text
