Regarding the F50/F50D'sautofocus
feature
Your F50/F50o is factory-setto Single Servo AF
operation.This meansthat once your subjectis
in focus, focus remains locked as long as the
shutterreleasebutton is lightly pressed.You can
recomposethe picture, and the subjectwill
remain in focus, provided you maintain the same
subject-to-cameradistance.(Seepage41 forAutofocus should be used for most picture-taking details.)If the subjectmoves,take your fingersituations,including moving subjects.In general,it is off the shutterreleasebutton,then lightly pressitbestto leavethe focus switch set to AF. again to restart autofocusoperation.
. In the ADVANCED mode, in addition to
Single Servo AF, you can chooseContinuous
Servo AF which keeps autofocusoperation
going continuouslyas long as you keep lightly
pressingthe shutterreleasebutton. (For details,

Auto Rewind
When the film reachesthe end of the roll, auto rewind begins.
During rewinding, Q and !l Utint in the LCD pa1el. After rewind
autom-aticallystops,frame counter shows E and Q blinks for a
few seconds.You can then remove film cartridge.
. When battery power is very weak, or when the temperatureis
very low, film may not rewind at the end of roll and Errappears
in the LCD panel.In this case,replacebatterywith a fresh one,
or wait for the temperatureto rise and then pressthe rewind
button.

To change a combination of shutter speed/aperture
In the General-PurposeProgram,you can changethe combination of
shutter speed/apertureby pressingthe button above V or A. Press
the button above V for faster shutterspeed/wideraperture(smaller
f-number); pressthe button aboveA for slower shutter speed/
smaller aperture(larger f-number). Pressingand holding the button
down changesthe shutter speed/aperturecombination rapidly. F+
appearsin the LCD panel and.. rD appearsinside the viewfinder,
indicating the changein shutter speed/aperture.
. The original shutter speed/aperturecombination for General-
PurposeProgram is recalled when the LCD indication
automatically switchesoff, when you turn the camerapower off,
when you switch to SIMPLE mode or when you use flash.
