TOURIST'SPOCKETOUTFITS.
The frames and front of these Cameras are made of mahogany and
finely finished. The nickel-plated rods and connectors which move
the front are easily removed in packing and replaced for use. When
folded up the 4x5 size measures but 5z/x6fxz inches, and. it is
without any projecting parts or screws, so that it may be slippecl into
the pocket readily and safely. The weight of this size is only rf
pounds with the dry-plate holder. rn both the sizes the weight is
nicely balanced on the centre of the tripod, which greatly lessens the
risk of vibration.
rn focusing, the front of the camera with the lens is pushed
fonvard, and when the focus is obtained the lens and front are
fastened in their position by a scl€w acting on a spring, which
presses against the focusing rods.

'' " LE TOURISTECAMERA.
Tlis Cant r'a has the front, base, and bellows as usual, but in
place of douole plate-holders is provided with a dark chamber at
the rear, which opens on both sides and the back and closes
tight-proof. Into this slides a box or universal holder with eight
sensitive plates. Each plate has its own groove at the bottom and
top of the dark chamber, and. has a frame around the edges to keep
it in place in the general holder. To focus, the ground glass is
pushed into that groove which coffesponds to the glass to be used.
\A,'hen the focusing is done the ground glass is removed, the doors
closed and fastened, and the plate to be used drawn frorn the holder
into the dark chamber by a screw-catch for the purpose. After the
exposure, the plate is replaced in the general holder by pushing the
latter entirely into the dark chamber and releasing the catch.
An5' objective of proper focus can be used lvith. the instrument. It
is easily set up and operated. The picture can be taken either
horizontally or vertically upon the plate. The focusing is done by a
rack-and.-pinion moving the front and the lens.
These cameras are very carefully made and fitted in every part.
