This manual covers operation of the RICOH KR-10E and
KR-1OEonre. All explanations apply to both models except
for date and time imprinting, which can be performed by
the KR-1OEonre only.
PROPER CARE OF YOUR CAMERA
* Never attempt to wipe dust or dirt from the camera's
lens or windows with your fingers. Always use a blower
to blow the dust away, or wipe the surface gently with
camera lens tissue or a soft cloth.
* lmpact, high humidity, salt, and other abnormalcondi-
tions can cause the camera to malfunction. Carefully
wipe off the camera after using it at the beacn or areas
subjected to salt spray, high humidity, or chemicals.
* Take care not to expose the camera to sudden changes
in temperature, which can cause condensation to form
on the lens, on the film, inside the camera body, or on
other surfaces.
* Do not leave the camera for long periods in your car, in
direct sunlight or in any other area subjected to extremely
high temperatures. Doing so can ruin your film and even
cause the camera to malfunction.
* When using a tripod, the screw length should be less
than 5.7mm (1/4 inch). Never try to force a longer screw
into the mounting hole.
* Do not leave the camera near a TV, radio, or any other
device that generates strong magnetic fields. Descrip-
tion of Parts.

SYSTEM
1. Advance the film and match "Auto 3000" on the Shutter
Speed Dial@ with Shutter Speed Index @.
2. Press the Shutter Release Button @ partly, while look-
ing through the Viewfinder Window @ and two LED's
will light; the uppermost LED "A" means that the mode
is now set in AUTO exposure mode. and the other indi-
cates the shutter speed to be use when fully releasing
the shutter. For instance, if the LED "A" and LED point-
ing "250" are lighting, then fully release the shutter and
1/250 second shutter speed will be used in auto expo-
sure control mode.
3. lf the LED pointing '3000" is blinking, it means overex-
posure resulting in unsuccessful photography. Turn Ap-
erture Ring @ to set to the smaller number.
4. When the LED pointing to "1-8" is lighting, extreme slow
shutter speed approx. 2 to 8 seconds is used.

www.butkus.us
5. Even when setting the lens aperture to full aperture, if
the value of the LED lighting indication is smaller than
the value corresponding to the focal length of lens, shut-
ter releasing cannot be expected without camera move-
ment. For example, in photography using 135mm focal
length lens with full aperture, if slower shutter speed
than 11125 is set and it is indicated by LED lighting,
camera movement may occur when releasing the shut-
ter. Use of tripod and/or remote shutter release control
cable is recommended.
AE LOCK
1. Bring the camera close to the subject to the point that
exposure is not affected by the background.
2. Press the AE Lock Button @ once to memorize the ex-
posure. Press AE Lock Button @ a second time to can-

2. Look through the Viewfinder Window @ while partly
pressing the Shutter Release Button @ and, on the left
side bar, two LED's lighting. The value of LED lighting is
selected by you, and the other LED blinking will be seen. www.butkus.us The value indicated by blinking LED is the shutter speed
recommended by autoexpousure system of the cam-
era. Therefore, the value of this blinking LED may change
according to the change of the subject's luminance, or
by turning Aperture Ring @.
3. lf the Shutter Speed Dial @ is turned counterclockwise,
the lighting LED shifts upward and higher shutter speed
is set. lf the dial is turned clockwise, the lighting LED
comes down and slower shutter speed is set.
