What Type of Film Should You Buy

‘Block end White Film is cheractarised by itt SPEED, GRAIN, and COLOR SENSITIVITY
‘Speed—Films are coated with chemical emulsions so that some films are “faster” than others. The
faster the speed ofthe film the less light needed to record a satisfactory image. Faster shutter speeds
‘or smaller leas openings can be used to make good photos that would fail on slower films. The Film

Kodak Super XX (100) ls twice as fast as Kovlak Verichrome ($0). Verichrome requires twice the
‘exponie of Super XX in the same
‘Grain All Sims produce some grainines inthe finished print. but usually the faster the film, the more

"Ortho" films are sensitive to all colors except red. Therefore, red clothes, red lips, et. will appear
very dark "Pan films have somewhat the same sensitivity as the eve and record most colors in
their relative brightness «they are best for pictures of women and children because they record
fet tones normally -- "Ortho" film is often used for portraits of men because it gives stronger con
