Model D of the EDIXA REFLEX hos o mechonism permitting the setting of exposure times
of 2 to 9 seconds (ot intervols of one full second). The setting scole for these speciol shutter
speeds (f) is orronged in o semi-circle on the top cop of the milled winding disc'(g) ond is
morked by strokes ond figures denoting full seconds. The first stroke positioned directly
ogoinst the screw securing the lever (e) denotes 2 seconds, whilst figure 3 denotes 3 seconds;
4 seconds is once ogoin denoted by o stroke, ond so on. Beside the stroke denoting
8 seconds there is olso o triongulor orrow mork os o pointer for the film type indicotor.
All morkings on this scole, including thot of the pointer for the film type indicotor, ore
outlined in green, whilst the oppropriote triongulor morking ond thot of the directing

'lset to "0" ihe scole (b) (1/ro to second) while the fost shutter speed setting knob (c) should
be set to "8". The lever (e) should be locked in qi the point next to "1" morked in green. This
is the bosic setting for slow speed work, which should not be oltered except for the faci thqt'
prior to eoch exposure the shuiter must be cocked ogoin before operoting ihe winding
disc (s).

For setting the slow speed mechonism, the winding disc (g) should be turned in the direction
of the orrow until the required exposure-time figure coincides with the red triongulor mork.
Once set, the exposure time con still be odiusted os long os the shutter hos not been
releosed. lf longer exposures become necessory, the winding disc (g) should be moved on
in the direction of the orrow; but for shorter exposure times thon olreody set, the lever (e)
must be moved to the block-morked "R" ond retoined there until the reversing red triong-
ulqr mork hos reoched the desired speed figure. The reverse movement is stopped imme-
diotely ofier the lever (e) is releosed. Don't forget to remove the lever (e) to point 'L'.
lf it is desired not to moke on exposure, the slow speed mechonism should be mode to run
bock to "R" by orresting the lever (e).
When odiusted to the obove-mentioned bosic position, with the distonce ond operture
correctly set on the lens, the comero is reody for oction ond the shutter con be releosed.
Time e-xposures must, of course, be mode with the comero screwed to o tripod or ploced
on o firm support! The slow speed diol is coupled to the built-in selftimer; the iun-off
mechonism of the slow speeds olso octs os o deloy mechonism 'ior the selftimer.

The built-in selftimer

The built'in selftimer (S) outomoticolly rele'oses the shutter of speeds of between 1/rooo ond
I second with o time deloy of between 2 ond 9 seconds.
When both distonce ond operture hove been set ond the shutter speed odiusted in occord-
once with the generol instructions for using the EDIXA REFLEX, the lever (e) should be set
to the dot next to the "S" morked red. lf the shutter hqs not yet been cocked, do so by
operoting the film tronsport lever. By rototing the winding disc (g) in the direction of the
orrow, time deloys of between 2 to 9 seconds con be obtoined by setting the red triongulor
mork to coincide with the oppropriote figures on the scole morked in green.
As long os the shutter hos not been releosed, it is possible to lengthen the time deloy by
turning the disc further, or shorten it by moving the lever (e) to "R" ond retoining if there,
which permits the winding disc (g) to run off.
The lever should be releqsed os soon os the red triongulor mork is opposite the required
figure or stroke mork. The deloyed oction mechonism begins to operote os soon os the
shutter is releqsed. The shutter, however, opens only ofter the pre-set time deloy ho:
expired.
lf no exposure hos been mode, the wound-on deloyed oction mechonism should be
permitted to run off ogoin by setting the lever (e) to "R", where it should be retoined unti!
the winding disc (g) hos resumed its storting position.
