In selecting the 35 cameras which we present in this booklet we have been guided by the desire to
provide the exact camera for the specific requirements, taste and spending capacity of both amateur and pro-
fessional photographers. Uppermost in our mind during our comparative study of cameras and prices was
the need to ensure quality, and this you will find whether the cost be $15 or $500.
This wide price range reflects an even greater variety of types: a complete selection of direct view and reflex
35mm cameras, single and twin lens reflex, folding, box, movie and stereo cameras.
Our favorite child of this vast brood which we present with some pride is the most novel camera of - - the post-War years, the camera which every reflex owner has sighed for . . the twin'lens reflex with inter'
changeable lenses, the REX REFLEX. For years the inherent optical and mechanical problems to such a
President of Photorex camera have baffied leading manufacturers -.--... and it is to Mr. Andr6 Grange,
of St. Etienne, France, that we are indebted for the final realization of this camera.
The REX REFLEX comes with two Berthiot optical systems: a standard 75mm and a telephoto l50mm.
Each system is complete with Prontor VS shutter, is mounted on a front plate and is interchangeable with
the other in a matter of two seconds. By distributing the REX REFLEX in the United States we feel that we
are doing our share in widening the scope of amateur and professional photography, and that we are
making an important contribution towards the greater satisfaction of the camera world.
