ee age + Pe OTe _ 4 ae Se Gh I gr a 3 The “Rotary” machine, with which this Instruction Book goes, is the most perfect machine that was ever made, and most complete in all its accessories and attachments. It should be thoroughly understood by the operator in order to get from it all the advantages that it — is capable of producing, To know what it will do and how it will do it, you must carefully study the instructions ¢or- tained in this book, By so doing you will find constant delight and surprise at the variety of work that can be accomplished, and at the simplicity and perfection of the appliances which produce such wonderful results. This machine is a mine of delightful surprises, full of richness for those who dig for it, and a revelation to all who strive to do the higher class of work it is capable of producing. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS. | This machine has been carefully constructed and thoroughly tested at the factory. a i If you have occasion to write about your machine, always give serial number of head on stitch regulating plate. Allow no adjuster, who is not an established agent of this company, to repair or touch this machine. Competing agents are often unscrupulous enough to put the machine out of order in an attempt to sell a new one. ip ; See that your needle is the proper length and straight. Skipping stitches and crooked sewing is often the result of either, The needle eye should be as close as possible to the point of the shuttle, and just below it when the loop is formed. Buy needles only of “Rotary” agents or send to the factory. When ordering, give the serial number of your machine. 1 | Do not run the machine when the presser foot is down without cloth between it and the feed, It tangles the thread, roughens the foot and dulls the feed points. Do not pull the cloth along when stitching. This is liable to pull the point of the needle onto the needle plate and either break the needle or roughen the needle plate, A rough needle plate or needle plate hole may cause trouble and breaking of thread. The feed will move the goods along properly.View original page 2
