at optimum sharpness. This applies irrespectiveof
whether you look through the eyepiece with or
without spectacles. lf you have difficulties with
focusing we recommend the use of correction

DB DatabackLEICAR4
The date included in a photograph is a valuable aid
to retrieve accurate information about various
phases or events even after yearb. The possibilities
are many: whether family photographs, the various
stagesof a house being built, or experimentalseries
in a laboratory are to be recorded with the camera,
with the Databackdata can be included in the picture ,
directly during the exposure. This makes identifica-tion reliable and convenient. Negativesor transpa- Jt
rencies have the date of exposure or a letter/number
code included in the bottom right-hand corner.
The DB LEICAR4 Data Back is inserted in the LEICA
R4 in place of the camera back and connected to the
flash contact of the camera by means of a cable. a.-

EXTENDER-R2x
The EXTENDER-Rhas been designed for all LEICAR
lensesfrom 50 to 800mm focal length and maximum
aperturesfrom f/2.
It consists of a complicatedoptical system, based on
special highly refractive LEITZ glasses. Optimum
adaptationto the LEICAR lenses has been achieved
with the sophisticated optical design. The optical
performanceof the EXTENDERis remarkableeven at
full aperture, and can be further improved when the
lens is stopped down by 1 to 2 stops.
The EXTENDERdoubles the focal length of the lens
with which it is used. The apertureset on the lens is
reduced bV 2 stops. Thus the EXTENDERconverts a
5-0mmf/2 into a 100mm f/4 lens.The exposuremea-
